Art & Craft Show
We are holding an Art & Craft Show featuring local artists and crafters, in the village hall on Saturday 6th October 10:00 – 16:30
Refreshments will be available all day.
Village Hall
Our hall is a very popular venue for clubs and societies. Regular bookings include the Duns Tew Drama Group, Natural Childbirth Trust classes, Music for Toddlers, the Music Society, W.I. and Parish Council meetings, Yoga, and Zumba. These groups pay a reduced rental which covers the fixed costs of running the hall.
The hall is also available for private hire and, with its well appointed kitchen and a capacity for 80 guests, is a favoured venue for weddings, funerals and parties.
The Village Hall Committee also organises village events such as the Boule and Croquet Competitions and the Village Barbecue thanks to a trusty band of committee members and helpers.
The future of our Village Hall depends on support from everyone so please help in any way you can.
Charity coffee mornings
We host a coffee morning on the first Saturday of the month, from 10:30 to 12:30. Various charities are supported each month.

History
The Village Hall was built in 1874 by the Dashwoods as a school. The school closed in 1968 and the village successfully negotiated with Oxfordshire County Council to buy the building for use as a Village Hall.
It was registered as a charity in 1970. The Parish Council pays the mortgage through the annual precept and the day-to-day management is in the hands of the Village Hall Committee whose members are elected annually at the AGM.
A major project to extend and refurbish the building was completed in May 2006 after many years of raising the funds (£160,000). The support from the whole village was overwhelming. Individuals, clubs and societies organised fund-raising events and local benefactors contributed generously. Grants were successfully applied for from DEFRA,the Lottery, local councils and charitable foundations.
